Dear grampa:
In the end it all boils down to faith. Amen.
Types of Faith:
1. Doctrinal-- and the importance of correct doctrine..I Tim 4:1
2. Saving-- The emotionalism of our belief and the zeal of our belief pales in the comparision to the object of our faith, Jesus.
3. Justification--The changing of our legal position in heaven. II Cor. 5: 21
4. Indwelling-- Our desire does not bring about a sinless life, but our faith in Christ.( Tell me we do not need Christ in every area to live in victory.) Who is the agent of faith ? The Holy Spirit.Right. 5.Daily faith-- Growing in faith, following biblical principles, through daily confession of sin, by surrender, daily, through communion with Christ, and by testing in difficult circumstances.
6.The outcome of all this.. GROWING IN FAITH. Even Abraham who was weak in Faith, grew in faith. Rom 1:17
Add to all this, Revelation, Inspiration and Inerrancy and surely God has everything under His control. Amen.
I have never feared openness about discussion of doctrine, By prayer and by study, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit I am content that Christ will lead us into truth. What I fear more is that often times Christians are led by the heirarchy in a church organization to the point all interpretation are made for the congregate and the interpretation must be accepted or they are booted out. This happens more often than one would think.
God bless you abundantly. In Christ.gregor |
