Some more thoughts, based on some PMs I have been exchanging with a fellow investor who knows a lot about the business. We need to keep our focus on the road ahead. DGIV is a visionary company with a visionary leader in Jimmy Chin. With Digitcom we are sitting on something big, and big things take time. We can't become a multinational company overnight.
Someone posted to the thread that DGIV can't compete in the U.S. with the major telcos. That is true, but the fact is that DGIV doesn't want to compete in the U.S. Why compete here when the competition is so tough that it's difficult to turn a profit from a sale? The big telcos in the U.S. can roll over a small company by covering low margins in this emerging field from other, more profitable, cost centers they do business in. DGIV only has a few segments that it can compete in. Niche marketing is a wise and powerful tool for the little guy, and Jimmy is doing it just right. I think Jimmy's strategy, although thrown topsy-turvy by world events out of our control (eg. Russia, Thailand, etc) will come back to us in a big big way in the future. Is there a payoff today? Probably not much. But, for forward thinkers, who can see beyond their nose, there definitely will be.
Some thoughts on the financials we are expecting, and to reinforce what has been said before. Don't hang your hat on the "numbers" for their own sake. I doubt if the numbers will show anything that will drive the price way up. I'm sure the company will have something to show us when the numbers come out, but don't expect huge profits, because all the money is probably being reinvested to build DGIV's long term network. I just want to forewarn everyone not to get your hopes up unreasonably high for the numbers per se. It is the event of producing financials that is important, not the numbers themselves.
On the other hand, I expect upcoming contract announcements to build strength once they're announced, because they should include numbers, so they will have a little more meaning to the average investor who might not understand all of the technology.
Here are some keys to attracting new investors:
1. good financials. 2. exciting growth-oriented contracts. 3. acquisitions 4. good informative posts that present the facts
We can't control the first three, but the last we can do something about. That is why we may want to make use of the information thread, or maybe a new thread, to which I will post this message.
Thanks to the person who PM'd me to discuss a lot of these thoughts. |
