Hi ya Jan,

I think your post leads into a reasonable time for the slow Norwegian market timing experiment update. It started with Message 4829076.

Here's where we are today:

INDEX---5/13/98------8/27/98-----Gain/(Loss)
DOW-----9211.84-----8165.99-----(11.35%)
S&P------1118.86-----1042.59-----(6.82%)
NAZ------1866.18-----1686.41-----(9.63%)

Let's see ----- how do I spell smug?

So what have you been doing while on defense? I've been paper trading shorts and puts. My learning curve is on a very steep incline of about 1/3 of a bubble.

BTW, you and Preston are to be commended for overseeing a stock picking contest. But you know --- if one is convinced, and I am, 1) That a good P&F'er takes a top down approach (NYSEBP, 10WEEK, HILO, Sectors, etc.); 2) That these indicators then determine if we are either on offense or defense; 3) And that determines the trend channels we should look for and the charts patterns on particular stocks, then a true P&F stock contest must have the ability to short. Perhaps next time.

Take care,

Eric
