<<<<Good evening Lisa! As long as you are explaining some basic things, could you
explain the difference between the Globex sp500 and the cash S&P500
index? What I mean is that the cash index closed at1042.59 and the Globex is
quoted now at1040 and it says it is up 400(I take it to mean 4 points)My question
is --are the globex sp500 the futures contracts and if so, did they close below the
cash today? Also, where can I find the link for quotes on the futures? I am finding out
more and more how little I know of the markets.>>>>

Boy oh boy...i shouldnt have checked in ...;-) you made me have to actually think..and you know I dont do that so well late at night...

but here goes

go to this site...www.cme.com

there you will find..(after perusing a bit..start with the prices link and follow from there) a link to time and sales data...I like to look at this....

look at 15:00 CST...you will see what the futures were at when the cash closed....they continue to trade after the cash closes...and you can see each trade on that TIme and sales link

now you will often see people mix fair value with PREM ..THEY ARE NOT THE SAME....I am not sure exactly what Don Sew was looking for....whether fair value or PREM....but the futures closed WAY OFF the cash...something like6 or 7 points...

that means when globex starts trading....you could see the futures go up 6 or 7 (or whatever the number is) and we would still just be even to where the cash closed... ..more or less..

you can also get the link for a flash up date from the cme site for the globex futures prices that automatically updates...or you can down load something from Townsend analytics that does something different...the link is also on the site

I use both...you can also get the quote off the quote.com chart
by using SP8U

that's it for starters.....after you go through all that
ask me what you havent figured out yet..

Great questions!! Let's deal with why I bought Dell. I only bought 1/2 of what I sold at
112 5/8. I plan to sell it after a bounce. But why did I buy? Hell, down 350, already
oversold. And I paid 125 3/4. I think we'll get e rally in the enxt 3 days. So does
Favors.
But I will sell quickly after 4-5 points. The BIG one is coming. I think ST things
will bounce. I think, in the end, I just watch the tape and believe that when it turns, Dell
will pop girst and furthest.
