Rob, the day I defend corporations is the day I stop investing in the Market. My point was that PC mfg will not benefit from a 80% drop in mem prices and still charge the same to corporations. If you beleive that mfg's are on a goodwill kick to "pass along the savings to their costomers" then The Pope must be doing the Macareana on top of the Epire State Building. I mean it is a joke to believe that these companys are lowering prices because "we fell your pain" senario. On top of being greedy they have an obligation to the shareholders to make as much profit as posible.Tech companys that deal with cyclical commodity inventory has to make as much mulah as posible when the siuation presents itself or be left in the dust . Buying back stock is a good thing if you know when to do it . How is IBM helpping out the shareholders when they are buyiny back stock at 5 times book ? If CPQ is not putting that 3bil to work it will erode right along with the stock price.....MP
