ALL: I am up early and it would appear that the futures are saying that we will have an up day. Which IMO will make a nice start to the week end. I have been thinking about this IPO of the radio business and itmay be a lot smarter than I gave it credit for in the first place. In that recent Business Week article they valued the Radio assets at 25B - that may be too optimistic lets use 20B. Now ifthey spin off 20% that could be about $4B that would be raised.
Now if that money was applied to the share buyback on top of the already approved $3B that makes a total of $7B. Now that is about
30 % of the market cap - or something in the order of 230 million shares. The way I read the figures that tells me that Mel K thinks that the current CBS is worth somewhere in the $45 range. Which I do not belive is an unreasonable figure.
CBS could open strongly today if the market comes back - I have not prediction of how high it will go but up is the right direction.
