Well, I don't want to turn this into a MSFT bashing thread, but my point is that they seem to see the end of their dominance of the desktop also. So they are expanding into servers and cable operating systems. TCI just signed an deal with them that their new generation cable boxes will run on Windows CE, (significantly along with Suns JAVA, so they obviously aren't too happy sitting totally with MSFT.) If MSFT pulls off with the internet what they did with OS, they will be just as dominant in this new medium. After all, they own WEB TV, don't they? And they are planning on putting up those satellites to take over the net. So who knows. The scary thing about MSFT is that they have more CASH than most companies have NET WORTH. That can provide a lot of pressure. Perhaps the government lawsuit will end this for us.
