Geoff Nunn,
Wish I still had the book and paper I wrote on it. I was a business major taking an economics course in the sixties. The book addressed the dark side of communist revolutions and governments. It clearly pointed out the only economic advantage of communism. Basic distribution of basic goods. It was not advocating communism. The thesis was problems with a communism based economy. It does not lay an economic or cultural foundation for the most efficient economic system. Capitalism. This is a massive failing of the communist economic system, and would be the cause of its' failure.

Sorry if you took my brief note to indicate that Friedman thought communism was a good economic system. He certainly did not and I didn't mean to leave that thought in any one's mind. It would have been a great disrespect for one of the greatest economists of our time. If you think about it, Friedman was correct. Easy to see now isn't it?
