<<"Clinton did the right thing by lying(to Starr) regarding this affair. This does not mean I condone lying." No, it doesn't. It means you fully embrace it when Clinton is the one doing it. You are the quintessential Clintonista.>>

IMHO, the question is one of degree - the "God Squad" was asked about this issue on one of the talking head shows the other night, and they tried to differentiate between a "good lie" and a "bad lie" (no golf jokes, please). It's okay to tell Aunt Alice that her hair looks great, but other lies are not okay. I try to avoid lying at all, so I'm uncomfortable with this one - how do you tell where to draw the line?

The other situation they discussed, was lying to save your life or the life of others - i.e., when the Nazis came knocking at your door and asked if you were hiding Jews, you should lie and say no. This one I completely agree with.

Since I agree that lying could be acceptable under certain circumstances. do I condone lying? If so, am I wrong? How would you handle the Nazi situation described above?
