I think SWP is an extremely good buy at $14. It is Canada's largest publicly traded grain co and is diversified enough to provide SOME cushion. Next time you buy a Robin's Donut, you're helping your share value, for example.

Already factored into the price is the market reaction to the recent decision by the Alberta and Manitoba Pools to merge. Even with that action, SWP is still the nation's largest, although the Alta-Man deal does provide some "competition" concerns, with each now planning to handle grain on the other's turf.

A few strategic alliances should serve SWP very well. I hold it (at $18) in my RRSP and in 20 years, I suspect I'll still own it. Long-term, I think it's an excellent buy.
