I bought SGI last January on the strength of a general knowledge of their system (at 23). I have watched it wobble for a year. Cisco, my other choice, did much better. SGI has swallowed several major firms, all at premium prices and without anything left to show for it except expenses. The only hope was that something would pan out. The MIPS / Nintendo connection seemed like the only one to show any positive results, and it seems as if it will be minimal in consequence. I'm delighted that Goldman Sachs has upgraded their position on SGI, but I myself am not terribly impressed. Is there any reason I shouldn't bail out now? What am I missing?
