all the spin, hype and excitement about quarterly earnings looks ridiculous. The influence that the global village exerts is far greater than a couple of contracts.
Doug,
If your investment horizon is 1 week or less, then obviously the above is a true statement.
Many of us are long term investors (we have a horizon of 2 weeks, sometimes even 3) and may hold a different view.
The LMCS / LMDS wins are the first in the world for this technology. That was, is and will be an outstanding positive factor for NN's technology for at least a couple years, possibly longer.
The market has not yet priced the impact of the SBC ATM win into NN's price. Sooner or later, it will.
NN now has a "string" of 1 whole quarter in a row of doing what it told the street it would do. (That just happens to be 100% of the quarters with Alan as President).
the majority of the world is in deep inflation relative to the U.S.
Pardon me! Tell that to the Russians, Indonesians, Japanese, ...
I do not think A.G will lower interest rates.
I agree with your conclusion. There's excess capacity in the US and World economy. A.G. is unlikely to lower interest rates thus stimulating even more supply. Rather, I would expect him to favour monetary actions which would stimulate consumer demand.
rewards may be had if one would also consider the Economies of the Global Village.
It's when one considers these macro details, that NN becomes an exceptionally attractive opportunity. What other sector will grow as much as the "Global Village" becomes a reality rather than an illusion.
