You still do not have financial transparency in private held companies. So? You are going to force your plumber release his or her financial statement?

Public company who sell shares to PUBLIC need to let public know basic financial information.

environment is PUBLIC resources, why should not government regulate it? If you can limit your toxic within your own property, I have no problem with that.

Re: 3) AT&T would still be your only provider phone service

AT&T is GOVERNMENT sponsored monopoly. IMHO, it should a good "managed free market" example.
