Motorola's technology in "set-top" box with Internet capability
To be unveiled at International Broadcaster's European convention Sept 12th . Guess Alomex is there a little early .
Motorola felt they had to clarify (?) Wednesday's announcement: " On Wednesday, Motorola said it would demonstrate the first working model of the new box, a computerized box which sits atop a television and is speculated to provide a vast array of services ranging from Internet access to movies on demand.
The demonstration will be made at the International Broadcasters' Convention in Amsterdam. " Our announcement is regarding a significant set-top box technology," said David Rudd, spokesman for Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola. "We will be a technology provider."
Rudd declined to give details, but analyst Eric Buck of Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette, said the company and other sources told him Motorola will provide the semiconductors, or chip sets, used in the set-top box, giving it enhanced Internet-related technology.

Like speculation on Russia , Hong Kong and Mrs. O'Leary's cow permit me to ask this of Motorola's "clarification" .
Motorola makes PowerPCs , AAPL is rumored to have designed a "AMP" , Jobs keynoted a TV Broadcaster's convention (Las Vegas) and there is a still a AIM partnership .
What did Motorola "clarify" ? Senor Jobs pulled the iMAC surprise out of his hat 5/11/98 , so is the fabled "AMP" ?
Also , why not any AAPL/Seybold advance news ?
