Gates deposition called evasive news.com
Not to say totally random, beyond bizarre.
Citing an example, the source said that when Gates was asked to verify a quote attributed to him in a published article, he said he would have to view the transcript of the interview to see its full context before commenting.
Ah, I see that Reggie has indeed been taken on as a legal consultant. Bill's friends in the appeals panel were right on, there was a very grave danger of Microsoft trade secrets being revealed here. Like the deep, dark secret that Bill is a weasel. You think they asked him about my current favorite?
At one point, Slivka proposed that Microsoft give away some software on the Net, as Netscape was doing. Gates, he recalls, ''called me a communist.''
Of course, that whole bw story was a Microsoft plant too, so it's of dubious veracity. Anyway, we are all communists now. Then there's this one:
Random. It's a random number. It's all finance! Demand means nothing! It's some market analyst spewing out numbers because he's supposed to! Once you prove that the revenue stream is there, you can borrow the money you need to build the network which runs the applications that create the demand. It's all finance. No one can project what the numbers are going to be by the end of the decade. It's random!
I'm sure the proper context would clarify it. And, of course, more topically:
"There won't be anything we won't say to people to try and convince them that our way is the way to go."
As the Fabulous Market Babe said,
Next time, perhaps you should keep them to yourself.
Cheers, Dan. |
