That article is way outdated. I'll bet they didn't test at high resolution. They quote a price of 158 for a K6-2-300 when it's closer to 120. Drivers for 3DNOW! are being updated all the time. Take a look at Toms hardware page if you want to see how fast 3DNOW makes quakeII run.
