Which charting program are you using?? RU referring to Metastock's Smart Charts feature. Metastock 6.x charts and templates are unaffected by re-creation of metastock data. I beleive that smart charts store extra data in the Metastock Directories.

Here's an example of normal MS data directory without any smartcharts or other info.

Anything Except files in this format I would assume could belong to the charting program.

My best advice would be to backup your data first and spend some time looking at it. Quotes Plus 2.0 does have an option in the metastock output tool to update existing directories. Others have reported problems when switching from other data providers. TO my best knowledge these specific issues have been fixed in the latest quotes plus releases. There may be more. Backup your data before doing anything. You can additionally tell QP to update any # of MS data directories automatically each day. This will correct data for splits. It doesn't correct errors in the data that are corrected via automatic download from QP. Personally I delete and re-export every directory every night to get the cleanest possible data. Others use the auto-update feature successfully. You will have to determine whats right for you....

There seem to be several snafus reported here in the latest release. read the last 50 or so posts and you you get it all... I still recommend you load especially since it fixes known bugs with MS update of existing data. Release notes are on the site too...
