Boys feet do strange things. My feet grew before the rest of me, reaching size 12 while I was still around 5'6" I have a minute sliver of Native American ancestry, and there was much speculation that a member of the tribe had once mated with a Sasquatch. Eventually the rest of me caught up.

Jennifer, who is 2 1/2, must have inherited a little Imelda gene, as shoes are a prominent item in her universe. I have to refuse to buy them almost daily, and there are still boxes overflowing with the things. Every morning there is one specific pair, no substitutes acceptable, which is right and necessary. 15 minutes later she's usually barefoot again.
