Emile:

You try, I'll give you that. But like James T. Kirk once said, "You keep shooting, but like a poor marksman you keep missing the target."

I shall respond to some of your points:

"Terrence---I agree. The Hebrew civilization was indeed materially inferior to the ancient Greek, Roman, Eyptians."

Not only materially inferior, Emile, but also intellectually and philosophically. Their values were poor -- following a warrior God who often "instructed" them to rape, pillage and destroy every man, woman, child, infant and animal. Their ethics were a disaster. Not surprising since they were struggling under a mystic god that often spoke through oracles like the ancient Greek gods.

"Solomon's Temple and Solomon's navy indicate that the ancient Hebrews were capable of great architecture and technical advancement. So, the questions is; why didn't the ancient Hebrews create an equal or greater civilization than the other ancients.
The answer is simple. The essence of the ancient Hebrew civilization was spiritual and not material. The ancient Hebrew civilization focused on virtue and character instead of pride and self agrandizement.
The engine that drove the ancient Hebrew civilization was an awareness of God and a desire to fellowship with God."

If this was their goal they failed miserably.

"The engine that drove the ancient Greek, Roman, etc. civilizations was a desire to exercise the fullness of pride and self centerdness."

Not true. That is Christian propaganda and misinformation.

"In a man's last hour on this earth, he is no longer concerned with his ego and his great material works. He comes to the full awareness of his spirituality and his mortaility."

That is why we must leave Earth and populate other planets.

"The superiority of the ancient Hebrew is clear. Because of their relationship to God through His covenant, they lived a life as if they were on their death bed."

The superior savage? Emile, think of what you are trying to defend!

"The essence of existence--fellowship with God--was always first."

The essence of existence is the human mind. For it is even the mind itself that has created the concept of a god -- twisted and harmful as that concept has been.

"Like athe ancient Hebrews, the true Christians today are considered primitive compared to the pagan world of science and art."

Christians are considered primitive by men of the mind because Christian thinking is primitive no matter what the time: 6,000 years ago, 2,000 years ago, or today. If you use your mind instead of relying solely on emotional thinking, if you disspassionately observe history and the scourge of mysticism upon the human race, Emile, you would not be so overeager to promote the wrongheadedness that you and others continue to pour out.

Someday, many centuries from now, you will be looked back upon as the Second Dark Age. Perhaps once Mankind touches the stars we will really become a more thinking, rational race.

As the 'Ask God' thread continues to prove -- all too sadly -- there are still multitudes willing to blank out their minds in favor of mindless platitudes and fallacious other lives and a higher plane of nonsense and mystical jumps into the pit of irrational oblivion.

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi

Father Terrence

You will find that only Jesus can give you what you are truly seeking.
All true wisdom and knowledge is in Christ--BE RATIONAL AND COME AND DIP YOUR COUP.
