re: shorting ALTIF

I'm happily short ALTIF, and shorting more, but I don't understand Friday's movement, or what ALTIF has done.

Why the big drop? I read the press release, but I don't know when it came out; was it responsible for the bizarre rise back to 5, or did it precipitate the drop? In any case, it looked weird: lots of volume (relatively) on the drop, but little piddly trades moved it back up the whopping 66% from 3 to 5.

I love the $11M market-cap-per-employee this company has, but wasn't the presence of this convertible one of the weak points of the company financially? Now they've removed that liability; isn't the company (slightly) stronger now?

Thanks for the help,

-- Pete
