From an insider at MRVC

I know a few employees at the company. Everyone there is shaking their heads at the stock drop. In fact, they are all quite bullish and unconcerned. They all bought stock on Friday. Here is what they are telling me:

There has been a pause in buying by both Worldcom and MCI... due to merger work and waiting for it to close and assess the needs. 2. AT and T was interested in evaluating the new WDM product from MRVC... this was supposed to be out 3rd quarter and there is alot of excitement from their customers to try it. This has caused a delay in new orders as the customers want this upgrade.

3. The European summer slowdown has only compounded the short term problem. Europe is always slow in july and august. More and more of their newer sales are going to European companies... normally these pick up in Sept...but they also await the new WDM.

4. T did not like CIena's version of WDM...which puts MRVC at the forefront...
5. LUcent is very very interested as well and employees think they may make an offer for MRV...but they couldnt provide me with specific data...they just told me they've heard talk and or rumors around the company...not confirmed.
6. At this price, the stock is an incredible buy... momentum investors got out and killed the stock friday... the market is also weak for small cap techs... it is completely oversold
