Yeah but he also said he was opposed to a merger of equals, with 250MM being a sort of upper limit (RP acquisition). So who knows.

Melissa, yeah Duffield is right on about Ellison here. He just never liked apps, plain and simple. I disagree a little with the "happy customer" comment regarding Larry, I think in the apps area many, many Sap customers are also VERY unhappy - Oracle just got a bad rap on customer satisfaction early on because the customers didnt understand the complexity of what we were trying to achieve. There was no way to please those customers and Psft was not an ERP vendor when Oracle gained that dubious distinction of pushing on their customer base.

He didnt say much about Y2K, thats what Im trying to get a handle on.
