What is even more amazing, though I don't recall posting about it so it lucks documentary evidence, but earlier today I checked my confirmation slip on a 1/3 of index puts - and the trade date is July 17, 1998! Perhaps I should never close this position, just frame the slip and display for posterity. -g-
