Michael, you really need to understand the difference between organizations that start with a particular political slant, and real scientific discovery, which is objective. The journal Nature is very highly respected, as well, and only allows studies with good science to be published. It is not a liberal political magazine.
Your argument reminds me of all the conservative Christians now saying that homosexuals can easily become heterosexual, because they are not using good science. In fact, the doctor they quote in their advertisements issued a formal protest because they distorted and wrongly interpreted his data. They overlook the enormous failure rate, high suicide rate, the fact that the two founders of the Exodus (I think that is its name) left the organization because they fell in love with each other, the use of electric shock treatment and other potentially very damaging treatments in the therapies to make gay people straight, and all sorts of other side issues. In fact, the Family Research Council is a prime example of very, very bad science.
Could I take a minute to note that I have never been a Clinton defender, and yet you keep insinuating that all my positions are characteristic of liberal Democrats? I don't think that is quite fair. |
