I believe it was simply a masquerade. The company has nothing better to do with its cash than shuffle some convertible debt around.

Sometimes, it's impossible to determine what exactly is going on behind the scenes with the stock when one of these scam companies starts to hit rock bottom. I'm sure you've seen cases where some obscure stock suddenly jumps from 1 to 8 a share in a matter of days, and then just as quickly returns to 1.
