One of the newest is that of Energy Service Companies being formed or funded by electric utility companies. In the past, lighting for utilities consisted primarily of roadway, flood, and building lighting. Changes in the utility marketplace, primarily due to utility deregulation, have prompted utility-owned Service Companies to offer new services such as energy audits and installation of the full range of lighting fixtures or the renovation and upgrading of offices, schools, hospitals, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
