"Nextband Communications LLC, the second-highest auction winner, captured 42 licenses covering 96 million POPs for $135 million. The company, a joint venture of Nextel Communications Inc. and Nextlink Communications Inc., isn't responding to information requests about its strategy. That's not unusual for close-to-the-vest Craig McCaw, who has a strong interest in all three companies.
