Steve, It is not pride, it is a questions of what the two things have to do with one another. You said, "He wants you to ask him for the truth and for you to be fully willing to accept it". what does tha have to do with submission? You dont have to be submissive to want to know and accept truth. As far as being sinless to be accepted by god, I believe (but may be wrong) that gods non acceptance of people until they are sinless is a major cornerstone of christianity. according to my understanding of christianity, we are born sinners and cannot be fully accepted by god until we are washed of those sins by his grace.
