In a 2:1 forward split let's say you have 100 shares of at $10/share ($1000 invested) prior to the split.

After the 2:1 you will have 200 shares @ at $5/share ( still $1000 INVESTED)

Now if it is a 16:1 let's say you have the same 100 shares @ $10/share prior to the split. ($1000 invested)

After the 16:1 forward split you would now have 1600 shares at a cost of $0.625. ( still $1000 INVESTED)

I hope that helps.
