**Caution...Post Long and personal** PaperChase,
Obviously, I am wrong about your knowledge and experience in the markets. If you would have left out the word "Appalling" I would not have responded to your post sarcastically. I am guilty of some of the "mistakes" you posted but the way you stated them was insulting and could have provoked me to respond to you in what might be defined by some as "a childish reaction". I think you could understand the emotional state one might well be in when one has taken much time and made much effort to be informed about this company and has taken the time to talk to management and visit their facilities and saw the things taking place there and was able to get touchy, feely insight in the state of the art in this technology that is/was and still is taking place there. I do not blame anyone or anything for my present position in this market but myself. I am solely responsible for how things turned out. With the effort that I made to obtain as many facts here and being aware of the present market vulnerability and indications of this being more than just a market correction I was still convinced MRVC has/had the right technology at the right time. Unfortunately, as you are aware, making money in the stock market involves much more than this.
In my defense, I did not take into account the effects of an organized group of people that have found ways to propagate disinformation and this information having so much of an impact and influence that the management of this company panicked from it and for the first time in their history Pre-announced a slow down in earnings for this quarter only out of fear they could become targeted by the SEC for their past accounting procedures that sometimes hide the fact that their real earning were not growing as fast as they stated. Ironically, IMO, even if the SEC had announced that MRVC was being targeted for investigation, the stock's price would have responded the same as it has from their pre announcement. Why would management make such an announcement after one of the most down days or weeks historically, in the nasdaq? (More bad timing?) Their timing for most all of their announcements, in hind sight, has been a disaster and now I can't just simply state, they have had simply bad luck for over two years coinciding with worldwide turmoil over and over again. Yes, I am guilty again here of not taking action and bailing out upon realizing management has much to learn but I have never considered them to be classified as crooks, just not street wise. Unfortunately, as many have found out the hard way, myself included, in this business, what you don't know can and most often can kill you. Maybe not literately but financially.
As for myself, I have other investments other than the market and will survive this.
For those who care, and many have expressed such, and I am thankful to all, who have, My daughter, against my advice, bought more shares of MRVC at $6 and change. (Ain't this just like most daughters) This brought her stock in MRVC price average way down to were she just might make some money soon. I on the other hand just can't bring myself to buy another share of MRVC. Another mistake, I guess, letting emotions get in the way.
Best Wishes and Much continued good fortune your way,
John |
