In a recent interview, Milton Friedman was asked about how his basic "free to choose" philosophy has been embraced by the world. Obviously, he thought that was good. But he expressed dismay that it was due mostly to economic cupidity rather than fuddy-duddy libertarian principles.

I guess Gordon Gecko had it right after all. Greed is good.
