Thanks for clearing that up! What it really comes down to, I suppose, is that all of this is transparent to the shareholder and it's OK to buy at pre-split prices anytime up to the close of trading on the 6th, unless of course the company requests that the stock begins trading at post-split prices as of the 4th.
