Rumor me this--- or The Gambit Rumor Sheet Little bits of stuff I hear -------------------------- Creative Sound Blaster Live! Value Edition. Creative Technologies will be releasing a Sound Blaster Live! Value edition in a month or two, for an estimated price of S$80 - $100. It will have all the features of the full SB Live!. Remember the SB AWE64? The value edition came out a few months after the initial release at a much cheaper price. The current S$359 SBLive! is just a marketing tactic. Creative Oversupply of Voodoo2's. Apparently, Creative's warehouses are still chocabloc full of Voodoo2 cards! That's why the Creative Voodoo2 prices are consistently lower than the competition's (the lowest I saw was for S$375, but could be even lower in some places). Creative is practically throwing these babies out just to get rid of the stock. If you have the dough, maybe it's time to get two of these for some SLI action. RAM Prices to Soar. The world supply of 16 and 64Mbit RAM chips are going to run out soon as manufacturers are halting production on these RAM chips. This means that that RAM prices will soar as these insanely low priced chips starts to run out and consumers will have to pay for higher priced 128Mbit RAM chips. As of next year, when the 128Mbit RAM chips are in demand, RAM chip manufacturers will hold a tight reign on prices, and we'll probably never see the likes of today's prices again.
