25,000 tons a day.

shouldn't be much more than that.

I used to mine in Kerr Addison underground. 5,000 tons
per month with two jacklegs ring drilling out of a raise
on flow ore.

It cost in 1977: are you ready? That is: mine, muck, haul by 3 ton car, hoist, a total of $1.50 per ton for that stope. This is official Kerr Addison costs from Joe Teal, the mining superintendent. And this was at 500 tons per day total mine production.

I said 6 dollars a ton. About 2 dollars a ton to mine and 4 dollars to mill.

Now you have to remember that they mine .3 % copper in BC and they make money. That is 6 dollars US per ton. So how much can it be to move and mill ore?

When you get into the large tonnages underground and bulk methods it gets quite cheap.

The single largest cost to mill in a copper mine is electricity. It is 70% of the cost. To grind the ore takes about 1.00 HP per ton day.
So one ton takes 24 hp hours or 18 kilowatt hours. At 15 cents a kilowatt it takes 2.70 CDN to grind. So total costs are 3.85 per ton for milling. That is CDN.
