Lucius, I don't think it has anything to do with the software intimidating the "non technical salesperson". Sales reps don't like having to report or fill out anything...either on paper or online. It's just the nature of the beast.

I've known really top sales reps who wouldn't even fill out expense reports unless you forced them to. Hard as this might be to believe, I knew one who didn't do any for over a year. I once worked for a company where they had to issue a policy that if er's were more than 90 days after the fact they wouldn't get reimbursed. So if sales reps have a problem filling out a form which reimburses them for money they spent out of their own pockets imagine the difficulty with sales reporting.
