Dear Arnie, I spoke with PARS on Friday. Some updates:

Alrex and Lotemax each had 5,000 scripts written during the month of July; I believe these figures include week-to-week advances, so the current run rate is probably higher.

Management is beginning to make contingency plans for mid-1999. Its best guess is that revenues from Europe on Alrex and Lotemax will arrive earliest in September 1999, leaving 4 or 5 months in question about funding to run the business. One obvious answer is a progress payment from a partner for HU-211. Another is equity funding with (I was assured) a strong attempt to find a better source than that represented by Castle Creek.

Preclinical package on Tamoxifen is finished and the company is debating the need for an additional toxicity test. If it is not necessary, a Phase I clinical trial could begin early in 1999 if funding is available.

It is a GREAT shame that the possibility of good news about HU-211 (which may be given at the annual meeting on September 16 if available, but certainly by the outset of October when the first paper is scheduled for presentation) arrives at such an inauspicious moment on Wall Street. It's hard to gauge what the Street response will be in such a market near-term at least. So like the previous posters this weekend, I suspect one must keep the perspective long term.

One good sign is that two analysts are currently doing due diligence on the company in Israel. One is far along in the process; the other earlier. Getting a following on Wall Street and the new PR firm would certainly be helpful is getting us off this incredible bargain basement shelf.
