Carl - maybe I'm missing something here but how is giving 100% to charity better than giving 20% to uncle sam? Take me through this. I have 2000 shares, I give away 1000 to charity and sell the other 1000 with no tax impact - netting 50% of the value of the 2000 shares. I think I'll take the cap gains...
