Re: Tomorrow is payday for a lot of people. It'll be interesting to see if the 401K money flow gets redirected at all.
Just from an administrative view, most plans that I have run across (used to do them for a living) will not allow plan participants to switch investment options so quickly. Really, really flexible plans might allow daily movement, but this is rare and certainly goes against the idea of long-haul investing. Some plans allow a change each pay period. Most I would suspect allow qtrly changes so next time to change is 10/1/98. My current 401(k) only allows semi-annual changes to investment split, but that's becoming more rare. Would be interesting to know what percentage of all 401(k) assets could be moved at what interval and how often. I would eye the internet for this answer, but am far too lazy/depressed currently to find the motivation.
