Hi-
I have been assuming that once Japan turns around gold will turn around..I am also assuming that perception(confidence) turns markets and the consumers follow and then the economies turn..
I have been assuming that Japan is the key to the global economy's recovery..US domestic economy is still strong but can't continue to be the sole source..(also wonder what is going to happen as Europe keeps on restructuring and showing better profits and creates more ipos from established businesses..that should have an affect on USA
stock market also besides all this old news)
I find listening to most news stations a waste since they just basically talk about old news or sensational news..
I was under the impression that the stalemate in Japan was from one party trying to get the power away from another and selfishly let the
common interests of their people take back back stage..
Are they saving for their retirement since their family structure still strongly suggests the best safety net there is..also they are not drained by entitlements or military expenses or crime and possibly health costs and obviously litigation costs.
I think they think in an insular way..maybe they have to since they are resource dependent..
both my nephews worked in Japan for a while..during the gulf war one newphew said it was only covered when it involved a Japanese..otherwise it wasn't an issue in newspaper or tv coverage..
One of my Japanese acquaintances told me an anecdote..
there were a lot of thefts in my health club..she said in her health club in Japan, somebody left her pocketbook by accident. The person was called and scolded for being careless..My acquaintance said that nobody would have thought to steal the bag..I am assuming that since it is such a homogenuous country..people can more easily emotionally identify with each other and so have a much stronger sense of conscious..I take that as one big pro..
ps. I am finding incredible stories by reading news releases from
mytrack.com it is new news not old news and it makes it a lot easier to see where money is flowing..
I really get a lot out of your posts..hope you will continue to educate us..thanks so much
bobby
