MPEG is a joke. Yes they are a company, yes they are touting an mpeg 2 e
encoding chip. But common, one guy from Futuretel takes a incomplete technology
makes a company around encoding algorythms and a silicon design and trys to compete
with companies like cube that have been working on their products for 8 years!!

C-Cubes Sun microsparc based mpeg 2 encoder will use the 75 man years
of development and evolution of their software and do what their current 7 chip set s
do today. (1st half 97) IBM is the only comp, and they will need three chips
to do it.

The broadcast space is very tricky, and Inovacom is a startup and has very
little experience in a highly complex arena. C-cube is the Intel of the Encoding
world. Inovacom is hardly a competitor. IBM is, Oak is , Ess is, but not Inovacom.
Don't waiste your money on a pipe dream. The best bet is cube.
1 They own the VCD market in Asia audio cd players that play video
2 They dominate broadcast encoding space
3 They will be a major player in Set top boxes with the purchase of their customer, Divicom who is a dominant player in the set top box arena
4 They are perfectly positioned for the comming DVD
5 They dominate the note book space for decoding MPEG streams by using a Cube enabled PCMCIA card.
6 C-Cube's revenue will be over 400 mill for 1996 and 5-600 for 1997

Inovacom has no revenue, only cheap cheezy ads for their stock in the
airline magazines
