I agree with you on Russia as a small player in the global economy... Yet, when discussing currencies and macroeconomics, one has to keep in mind the very geopolitical nature of all these issues... As one Financial Times journalist put it: Russia is Indonesia with missiles! That's why we know that we just can't tell the Russians how poor they're and that's it! Since you laugh at my conspiracy lunacies... I'm sure you'll love that one: monde-diplomatique.fr I don't know if the FBI has offered any $ reward for that case but I'll let you know... in case you're one of those happy-triggers on the loose.
