Lucas Educational Systems Schedules QVC Marketing Launch and Announces New Funding

Templeton, CA August 31, 1998

Jerry Lucas, president of Lucas Educational Systems (NASDAQ: LEDS) announced today that QVC plans to launch sales of the company's Dr. MemoryT products early October 1998. QVC will have exclusive rights to the electronic media marketing of those products. The television shopping network also plans to have Lucas appear on a regular basis. QVC will announce dates for those appearances at a later time.

Lucas also reported that new funding for basic operations and inventory is in place. Additionally, the company is in preliminary talks with two major corporations concerning potential product development and alliances. "I anticipate that our talks with a manufacturer of children's games and educational software and with a company specializing in educational programs and products will produce significant new market opportunities for our company," said Lucas.

Lucas Educational Systems, Inc., headquartered in Templeton, California, was founded in 1996 to produce, market and distribute the proprietary learning and memory techniques and related products developed by Jerry Lucas over the past 25 years. Prior to becoming a publicly-held company in November, 1997, Lucas' company sold more than 4 million educational products. Known as Dr. MemoryT, Lucas co-authored "The Memory Book," a "New York Times" best seller that sold more than 3 million copies. The company's web site is located at www.jerrylucas.com.
