To Anyone; This may be a stupid question...but....If one is holding shares against which he has purchased additional securities on margin, and the shares have gone down in value such that a margin call is imminent, can they be used to sell calls to "raise" cash to meet the margin call? TIA and I apologize if this is a really stupid question.
