David,

Not sure you'll need to worrying about how to buy or sell JTS.

The word from them is that they will be filling Chapter 11 and reorganizing to focus on building drives for the "low cost drive" segment.

In the San Jose office, they currently only have about 30 employees
mostly admin/sales/finance people. They owe $120+ million to vendors. IMHO, after they file, no supplier, given the current state of affairs for the whole disk drive industry (or the market for that matter), would be stupid enough to do business with them.

They have tried to make the Indian operation one that was self contained, i.e. so they could produce the bulk of the components needed to make drives but I'm not sure that will work.

I'm fortunate to have gotten out many months ago with only a 10% loss in my "for the underdog" investment. For the most part they made decent performing drives. But, with Avatar Peripherals (the Shark 250MB removable drive) now in Chapter 7 and JTS heading for Chapter 11, I'm afraid his could be just the tip of the iceburg.

Regards,
LT

PS-Sorry to those would road this one down.
