Chips get a boost at Needham & Co.: cbs.marketwatch.com Needham & Co.'s upgrade of several high profile chip companies Monday didn't prevent a 4.5 percent dip in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Analog Devices (ADI), Cypress Semiconductor (CY), Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC), and National Semiconductor (NSM) were all upgraded to "strong buy" from "buy" by analysts there. Microchip Tech (MCHP) was upped to "buy" from "hold." Advanced Micro Devices fell 1 5/16 to 13 7/8, Analog Devices fell 11/16 to 14 1/8, Cypress fell 3/8 to 6 1/8, Lattice fell 1 1/8 to 24 1/2, National Semi. fell 1/4 to 9 7/16, and Microchip fell 1 5/16 to 21 3/8.
