BCB New Shares To Commence Trading On September 2, 1998 New Digital Hand Held Recorder Launched Successfully
MARKHAM, ONTARIO--Ken Murton, Chairman and CEO of BCB Voice Systems Inc.(formerly BCB Holdings Inc.), announced today, "The common shares of the Company, following consolidation on the basis of one new share for every ten old shares, will commence trading on the Alberta Stock Exchange on Wednesday, September 2, 1998 under its existing symbol 'BIV'. Just remember 'Best In Voice'," he added.
"Holders of common shares of BCB Holdings Inc. will be requested to surrender their share certificates to Montreal Trust Company of Canada for exchange into new certificates representing consolidated common shares of BCB Voice Systems Inc. Instructions plus a Letter of Transmittal for exchange of the share certificates are being mailed to shareholders by the trust company."
Murton reiterated the statement at the Special Meeting of Shareholders on August 17, 1998 that in conjunction with the Company's intention to facilitate trading of its shares in the USA, the consolidation of its shares and consequent establishment of a higher market price should broaden the shareholder base of BCB by attracting investment in shares of the Company from institutions and other investors who seek high tech growth companies but cannot or will not purchase shares of companies in the "penny stock" category.
Mr. Peter Vanderlee, President and COO of BCB, stated, "Sales of the Company's new portable digital hand held recorder, the BCB/Uher Professional, plus our related transcription software "Play-ALL", immediately upon their launch in late August, indicate very strong demand. No sooner had we introduced these products to the market than we sold 46 of the hand held units and 10 copies of the Play-ALL software to a medical clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. This clinic has 46 doctors and 10 transcriptionists. The clinic wanted the advantages of digital dictation, especially the ability to use its Local Area Network, but did not want to be tied to a PC to dictate. Our products supplied the answer. The first unit was installed on Monday, August 24, 1998 and has worked to the full satisfaction of the users. Other major orders are on the near horizon for these new products.
"BCB Voice Systems Inc. is in the business of developing products and systems that capture, digitize, compress and store voice from a variety of sources and then manage the flow of these voice files over virtually any computer network. This finds the Company supplying solutions to end-users ranging from individual medical and legal practices to large hospitals, legislative assemblies, courthouses and general businesses. The computer networks over which BCB's software manages voice files include local and wide area networks, the Internet and intranets.
"The early-stage, technological risk has been overcome and the Company's main focus now is on channel development and marketing. In this regard, BCB is forming key alliances and integrating its technology with compatible technology, products and systems of major companies in related fields including voice recognition, case management, document management plus systems and network installation and support."
