People are saying that the machine is $200,000 more - I am not sure, but I would doubt it. How much is the upgrade to make the Summit Laser equal to the Visx Laser. The Visx laser is suppose to be more user friendly. Look at sales of each company, it must be worth the extra price.

I do know the Doctors are upset with Summit for starting the clinics. Why buy a machine from a company who is a competitor. I believe Summit's straregy may hang them. You don't piss off the Doctors, they seem to stick together.

Once Visx has the majority of the market share and revenues are coming in, other products, and/or other markets will arrive. This is not the end of Laser Surgery, and I think Visx being the standard will help there growth.
