Greg,

<<I'm getting the impression that you think Christ is some sort of panacea. Trouble with this? Christ can fix it. Trouble with that? Christ can fix it. Without Christ is there nothing good?>>

Jesus has already fixed everything. Trouble with this and that is just manifestations of the fact we still dwell in a world and in bodies which are still in bondage to sin. We are freed from the sin nature but our bodies are not. That creates a struggle in each christian as the body tugs one way and God's Spirit the other. Who do we obey? A daily decision, who do we follow. Our salvation is not in question because of this. But our ability to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit is honed finer or dulled a fraction with each decision. It's a struggle an unsaved person cannot understand. You are on the outside trying to look in but you cannot understand because we are new creatures, not of this world. What God has done in our spirits cannot be held up and examined with microscopes. Faith is an invisible force. You have to experience faith to know what it is. It is a gift from God. To know that Jesus Christ is alive sitting at the right hand of God nearly 2,000 years after He walked the earth as a man. Death could not hold Him, He is alive forever.
