CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1998-- System Software Associates (NASDAQ: SSAX - news), a global provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services, today announced the availability of its advanced ERP software, BPCS V6, pre-loaded on IBM's AS/400e servers with pre-configured network components. SSA will offer customers a complete ERP solution, which includes BPCS V6 on the AS/400e series as well as additional networking hardware and support in a single, easy to deploy package. This latest offering provides additional savings, convenient ''one-stop-shopping,'' enhancing productivity and greater options for IBM and SSA customers.
As one of IBM's Partners in Development, SSA and IBM work together to develop advanced solutions that meet market needs. Building on the AS/400e custom server announcement of August 1997, this latest offering is expanded to the entire AS/400e series product line. Companies of all sizes can now easily and quickly find the BPCS with AS/400 solution to meet their workload requirements.

The comprehensive package delivers a convenient ''one-stop- shopping'' approach for customers. SSA's BPCS V6 software, IBM hardware, and pre-configured network components are loaded and shipped to arrive together. Customers can rapidly replicate the network configuration for multiple clients, reducing crucial implementation time-frames while saving money.

The complete IBM and SSA pre-load package consists of BPCS V6 Mixed Mode or Full Client/Server; Sales Performance Manager; Plant Maintenance; TrustedLink EDI enablement; Application Development Kit; BPCS Systems Management Utilities; and Education enablement. The Networking option offered in the package includes an IBM client PC pre-loaded with BPCS V6 and Client Access; Quick-Start Client Installation CD; a Pre-configured IBM Network Printer; and a Pre-configured IBM Network Station. The general availability for the AS/400e and SSA Leadership Packages will be November, 1998 in North America and will be available worldwide at a later date.
