Thanks for your comments, Michael. I suspect, but have no proof, that they are shorters. But I do not blame DGIV's recent slide on shorting, nor would I try to squeeze them, for all the reasons you mentioned. Basically, I don't mind shorters as long as they are honest, which is rarely the case. If they are shorting and bash a stock they are shorting, they may have SEC problems. But if they are honest, shorters are needed in the marketplace, and can be good for a fundamentally sound company that keeps growing steadily. Unfortunately, the thinly traded BB stocks can be driven down by dedicated shorting and investors who are long need iron stomachs to handle the volatility, particularly on a week like we have had. But to emphasize, we are looking for financials and other fundamentals from the company, not focusing on shorters. |
